Transmission through the guru-śiṣya relationship

गुरु-शिष्य (Guru-Śiṣya): in the tantric tradition, authentic transmission comes through the guru-śiṣya relationship, the bond between teacher and student. This is how tantra has been passed down through dīkṣā since time immemorial. What is offered here is that same lineage transmission: mantra, yantra, and yajña, practiced directly under teachers empowered to transmit them.

This is a calling for those who long to know authentic tantra, and to directly experience it: an opportunity to be initiated into ritual, and empowered to hold rituals of your own.

What you receive from dīkṣā:

Each stage below is marked personal empowerment or empowered to share. Personal empowerment means it's yours to practice individually; empowered to share means you're also authorized to transmit it. The yantra dīkṣā here is bhakti-level empowerment only, not full tantric empowerment.

The Venue

AyurVAID Kalmatia  Almora, Uttarakhand, India

A hilltop sanctuary in the Kumaon Himalayas, fourteen acres of stone cottages overlooking the mountains.

AyurVAID Kalmatia is set on a lush hilltop in Almora, bordering the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, with walking trails through rice terraces, forest, and Kumaoni villages. The cottages are built in British colonial style with local Pahadi influence, and heated in winter with wood-burning stoves. It is quiet, remote, and built for retreat.

Weather During Your Stay

November falls in the dry season in the Kumaon Himalayas, after the monsoon and before winter fully sets in. Daytime highs average around 20°C (67°F), with lows dropping to around 7°C (44°F) overnight and in the early morning. Rain is unlikely this time of year. Bring layers: a warm jacket, wool socks, and something for your head and hands for the cold mornings, plus lighter clothing for the mild, clear days. The cottages are heated with wood-burning stoves, which helps once the sun goes down.

यात्रा Yātrā

Pilgrimage through the sacred landscape of Kumaon.

Yatra is pilgrimage: a journey undertaken with intention, to a sacred place of devotion. Walking to a temple, standing before a mūrti, offering pūjā at a site charged by worship — these acts open a sādhaka to the living presence of the divine in the living world.

AyurVAID Kalmatia sits near Kasar Devi Temple, one of the most powerful śakti sites in the Kumaon Himalayas. During the dīkṣā, we will make yatra there: carrying the practice of ritual beyond the retreat center and into the sacred land that surrounds it.

आयुर्वेद   Ayurveda

Ayurvedic treatments, included as part of your stay.

AyurVAID Kalmatia is an Ayurveda hospital, and Ayurvedic care is simply part of daily life there. Each participant receives a personal consultation with the center's Ayurveda doctor, along with four treatments over the course of the dīkṣā: two major and two minor sessions.

It is optional to add on more treatments at an additional fee.

Investment

Spacing is very limited.  This is a small space where we are sharing rare and powerful practices, the venue has been chosen to ensure that the dīkṣā stays direct and personal, and teachers are able to provide the attentiveness that is required for an initiation of this magnitude.

It is very important to understand that there are only 7 cabins available. If all cabins are booked privately then there is only space for 7 people. If all cabins are booked shared, then we can fit 16 people. We at Anuttara cannot guarantee a reservation until your initial payment has been made.
