What Is
Tantra?

An introduction to the amṛta — the sweet nectar — of the wisdom tradition commonly known as Tantra. Together we will look at its history, philosophy, cosmology, and practices, and at why so much of what circulates under the name 'Tantra' today is something else entirely.

WHAT THIS LECTURES COVERS

An introduction to
Traditional Tantra.

An accessible and genuine introduction to the depth, precision, and beauty of the Tantric traditions — structured to give practitioners and teachers a coherent framework they can actually inhabit. Whether you are new to Tantra or have been practicing for years, there is something here for you.

What Tantra actually means

The etymology, the textual canon, the three currents — Kaula, Miśra, and Samaya — and why the modern use of the word represents a fundamental departure from the tradition.

Tantra as social revolution

How the Tantric traditions radically challenged the Vedic caste system, offered initiation across social boundaries, and positioned women as holders of Śakti and legitimate teachers.

The subtle body and Kuṇḍalinī

What prāṇa, nāḍīs, and Kuṇḍalinī actually mean within a coherent cosmological framework — and why understanding this changes how you approach practice.

Bhoga, Yoga, and desire

The householder path. Why Tantra refused the renunciate/worldly binary — and how desire (Icchā-śakti) is understood not as obstacle but as the first movement of consciousness itself.

Mantra, Yantra, Mudra, and Ritual

The Tantric toolbox as a precise technology of consciousness — not prayer, not symbolism, but direct engagement with the vibratory nature of reality.

Kashmir Śaivism and recognition

Prakāśa and Vimarśa. Pratyabhijñā — liberation as recognition, not achievement. Spanda — the living vibration of consciousness. The philosophical apex of the non-dual Tantric vision.

"The library allows me to learn deeply about what my soul is calling me to learn — and stay rooted in that calling."
