Anuttara is a tantric yoga school offering online courses, programs, teacher trainings, live events, and in-person retreats. In this policy, "Anuttara," "we," "us," and "our" refer to Anuttara and the people who operate it. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our websites, online school, live sessions, emails, and text messages.

Information you give us:

  • Contact details, such as your name, email address, mailing address, and mobile phone number.
  • Account details, such as your login and the offerings you are enrolled in.
  • Payment details. Payments are processed by our payment providers, and we do not store your full card number.
  • Information you share when you contact us, join a live session, post in a community space, submit a form or questionnaire, or take part in a program.
  • Your consent choices, including your opt-in to text message reminders and email.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and usage information, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and course progress.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described in section 5.

Information from live sessions and recordings:

  • Live sessions are held on Zoom. Zoom may collect information such as your name, email address, IP address, device details, and anything you say, type, or share during the session, under its own privacy policy.
  • Some live sessions are recorded. Recordings may include your image, voice, name, and anything you say or type during the session.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, deliver, and manage your enrolment, access, and account.
  • Host and run live sessions.
  • Process payments, issue receipts, and handle refunds.
  • Send you access details, schedule information, and updates about the offerings you have joined.
  • Send event reminders by text message if you opt in.
  • Send emails about our offerings, which you can unsubscribe from at any time.
  • Respond to your questions and requests.
  • Improve our offerings, website, and experience.
  • Measure and improve our advertising.
  • Meet legal and tax obligations and protect against fraud and misuse.

4. Text Message Reminders

If you opt in, we use your mobile number to send text messages about the specific events you have registered for, including reminders of when an event is happening and updates such as schedule changes. Opting in is optional and is not a condition of any purchase.

Message frequency varies based on the events you register for. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, and reply HELP for assistance or contact us at anuttarayoga@gmail.com.

We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or text message opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. We share your number only with the service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf, and they may use it only for that purpose.

5. Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, understand how our website is used, and measure our advertising. This includes advertising tools from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that let us measure results and show our offerings to people who have visited our site. 6.  AI-Assisted Features

Some of our offerings include AI-assisted features, such as chat agents that answer questions about our programs. If you use them, what you type and the responses you receive may be processed by our AI service providers to deliver the feature. Please do not enter sensitive personal information, such as health details or financial information, into these features. AI features are educational and do not replace advice from a qualified professional.

7.  Who We Share Information With

We share information only as needed to run our school:

  • Service providers that operate our online school platform, process payments, send email and text messages, host live sessions (Zoom), provide AI features, and provide analytics and advertising tools. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • Teachers, facilitators, and team members who need it to deliver an offering or support you.
  • Other participants, when you choose to post or speak in a shared space such as a live session or community group.
  • Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Anuttara and others.
  • A successor organization, if Anuttara is ever sold or reorganized, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information.

8. Recordings

By attending a recorded live session, you agree to the recording and use described in section 5 of our Terms & Conditions. If you prefer not to appear in a recording, you may keep your camera and microphone off or contact us before the session.

9. Where Your Information Is Stored

Our service providers operate in Canada, the United States, and other countries, so your information may be stored and processed outside your home country, where the privacy laws may differ from those in your region. We take steps to make sure our providers protect your information.

 

10. How Long We Keep Information

We keep your information for as long as you hold an account or are enrolled, and afterward for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including tax, accounting, and legal requirements. When we no longer need it, we delete it or de-identify it.

11.  Security

We use reasonable physical, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

12. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to legal and record-keeping requirements.

13. Children

Our offerings are intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Links to Other Sites

Our website and live sessions may link to or run on other websites and platforms, including Zoom. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates are posted on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we will notify you by email or on our website.
